Ningxia Qiyuan Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. is a national key high-tech enterprise. The wastewater from its wastewater treatment project mainly comes from the production of its main products, erythromycin and tetracycline hydrochloride series raw materials. The company constructed two phases of new wastewater treatment projects in 2009 and 2010, with water volumes of 8000 m³/d and 17000 m³/d respectively. The comprehensive wastewater COD: 8000~10000mg/L, total nitrogen: 750mg/L, total salt: 5000mg/L. An MQIC anaerobic reactor is used, with anaerobic effluent COD ≤150mg/L. A large amount of biogas is produced, which is burned in the boiler to generate steam for production use, saving huge energy consumption.
